Had lunch here today - an original with cheese and a mushroom Swiss with fries and onion rings. It’s a really cool concept and the food was great for fast food.
Is there ever a time that runs has not amazing at? Swiss mushroom Runza and some Frings is the perfect midday snack on a snowy Friday afternoon. It was actually kind of cold in the dining room but I just sat at a high top and caught up on some emails while I ate so it doesn't bother me too much. I don't recommend it only to the bathroom when it's this cold outside it was freezing in there. But the comfort food made up for all of the external discomfort.
My husband love loves runza....he says his food was fresh and good. I just can’t as I can’t eat what they are known for and what I did order was put sideways into the bag so that the cheese was stuck to the container. Fries are also super salty.
So I suppose I had pretty high expectations. I rather reviews and what people had to say. I was intrigued by the German influence. I love German food and would do about anything for a sausage and a pretzel. So I tried the a Runza on my way through Nebraska, and, well, I can't say I'm sure what all the fuss is. It's a decent alternative to all the other types of fast food, but I'm going to say that it's not quite worth a detour. But try once make up your own mind. Enjoy!
