(May 11, 2020, 7:10 pm)My husband and I drove through Nebraska and stopped to eat at Dairy Chef during the Covid-19 pandemic May 9th, 2020. The staff all wore masks, and completely sanitized our table before seating us. It's a small location, humble and simple. My husband ordered a patty melt with steak fries. I got a mushroom Swiss burger with waffle fries. Those were both "baskets" so they came with fountain drinks and we also ordered mozzarella sticks. Everything came out fairly quickly and was piping hot. The sandwiches were amazing on the most delicious, buttery, toasty marbled rye bread. Spectacular to say the least. The fries were crispy and so good although not salted so we asked for salt packets. The mozzarella sticks were also top notch, the perfect breading-to-cheese ratio with a great stretch to the mozzarella. We definitely recommend this place and wish we didn't live 7 hours away as it would absolutely be a regular dining spot for us. I can't wait to go back some day to try a new menu item!
