Kaiyo Sushi

The food is very tasty. I lived in Japan and I would say that the quality here is really good. I had the spicy ramen and the Hawaiian roll. For dessert I had the tiger cake. I was yelling "Umai" when I was eating. The prices are a affordable and they aren't trying to gouge you. They could come down off the price for their alcoholic beverages. Maybe a smidge.

One of the things that needs to be worked on is the music selection for the restaurant. I really do not want to hear horrible American pop/alternative music in a Japanese restaurant. It really does take away from the ambiance that the restaurant is trying to go for because the decor and aesthetic is very traditional Japanese and very tasteful.

The staff is excellent and did not have to wait very long for the food to come. Our waiter was really nice and very professional. The restaurant is really teaching their waiters and waitresses how to do their jobs. Which is a plus, because a lot of places around here do not have really good waiters and waitresses.

The bathrooms are well kept which is great and the restaurant is very clean and presentable.

I wish that they would be able to give a 10% discount to military members every day instead of just on Thursdays.

Overall, I would eat there again, and I hope that the restaurant is successful and I'm looking forward to trying other foods when I go next time, hopefully the music will change. 😉

I enjoyed the cocktails, dumplings and spicy ramen. My date had one of the sushi appetizers and some amazing sushi rolls. Everything was delicious!! Looking forward to going back! This place is a wonderful addition to the Bellevue restaurant scene!

Surprisingly, there was no wait to be seated on a Friday night. Staff was attentive---offering frequent refills---but there was quite the wait to get our food, though we did have a large order. Having seen it on other tables, we ordered our sushi in a wooden boat, but since both of their boats were occupied, we paid boat price for plated sushi. Despite that, the presentation was beautiful, and the sushi was flavorful and filling. Stopping by the bathroom, the room was hot and stuffy, which was a stark contrast to the dining area. The prices were steep, but the proximity to home makes it worth keeping as a fancy outing go-to.

Our first experience here was thoroughly enjoyable. CC was our waitstaff and she was knowledgeable, personable, and attentive. The ambiance was warm and inviting. It happened to be my birthday celebration and they went out of their way to make it special.

I am an Omaha resident and let me just say this place was worth the drive! The atmosphere is very warm and the colors give the place a bright and welcoming appearance. The staff were very friendly and my server did a great job at getting everything correct and being quick on her feet. The plating is gorgeous, everything looks so good, almost too good to eat. Nevertheless, everything tasted wonderful. I’d suggest the Mango Mania roll for cooked sushi fans and the sombrero roll for raw sushi fans. Great place, great staff, 10/10 would recommend.
