I like to think of myself as a decent backyard meat connoisseur. I smoke brisket, ribs, pork shoulders, etc. I think I'm pretty good. I even thought my insight might be handy for them. Then I ate the Barbacoa tacos. At that point it dawned on me, Barry Bonds ain't asking a little leaguer how to hit a fast ball. Scott and his crew are pros. Absolutely incredible food. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could. This is the big leagues.

This is hands down my favorite BBQ in Omaha now. Everything we had was amazing: ribs, chopped brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, potato salad, mac 'n cheese, elote street corn, Texas sheet cake, and bread pudding. I love that they don't skimp on portion sizes here too and prices are great. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back again soon!

It was our first time here and holy buckets... I think I have a new favorite BBQ restaurant! Literally everything we tried was delicious 😋 we each got the 2 meat plate - one with turkey, sausage links, mac and cheese and slaw. The other plate was pulled pork and brisket with Mexican street corn and corn bread. Both came with 2 cups of bbq sauce (one mustard based and the other tomato based). I was so painfully full from trying everything but it was all so good, I couldn't stop eating! Huge portions for a very reasonable price. The pecan bread pudding was excellent as well. Friendly service too! Highly recommend 👌

I got to Mission Ave BBQ around 6:30pm (closes @ 8pm) and there were out of several things on the menu. The place was very clean, modern and staff was very friendly and helpful.

Since I like to think optimistically...."this is probably a good thing, because It will motivate me to revisit them to get a true sample of what they offer."

I was able to get a plate with ribs, chopped brisket with Mexican street Corn and Pinto Beans.

I thought the ribs were a little tough, but the Chopped Brisket was very flavorful, tender and smoked very nicely. The Mexican corn was good and I thought the Pinto beans were pretty good also. I did not care much for the BBQ sauce that was include, I had a very spicy seasoning inside that just did not set right with me.

Overall, it's not Texas BBQ, but pretty darn close to be in Omaha. LOL - I will definitely be back soon and I will have to make sure that its not close to closing time.

The lady mentioned that they smoke everything daily, so that explains why they were pretty low on items an hour away from closing. She suggested calling my order early to be sure to get the items you want.

My friend took me to try mission bbq.

    We got a platter.
Everything on it was good. The only thing that rated a 3 would be the Mac and cheese for me as it was bland for my tastes.
I'd recommend the beans (4 star) or the vinegary cucumber salad (my 5 star).
My friends favorite was the ribs, but there weren't mine. They were fine but just not my preference. I'd give it a 4.
The brisket would be the 5 star item. I'm not a huge fan of it normally but this was tender and juicy.
Everything else would be 4.25-4.5 ish.

Free Parking is available in a small private lot to the left when facing the building. There is also street parking that is free as well on the side streets.

I didn't pay for the meal so I'm uncertain of the prices but I will say the cheesecake gets a 5 star because of it's price (that I saw separately on the menu for pricing). It's a good piece for a good price and feels like a pay cut if you walk out without one.
I enjoyed the bread pudding too but I felt like the cheesecake was definitely worth it. My friend preferred the bread pudding.
