Ormsby House

Back in the late 80's, I remember going to this place for an all you can eat buffet which took place at the Northern California and Nevada Harley Davidson Dealers Run to Carson City Nevada. We paid and were waiting in line, then finally came to the buffet where they had plates and very small bowls to put boiled shrimp in. But all around the buffet there was crushed ice, with much bigger bowls holding green vegetation and flowers as part of the decorations, and the only people who were in line were bikers, so I grabbed one of the bowls and turned the decorations upside down so I could obtain one of the larger bowls, to be able to hold a lot more shrimp! (Hey, sometimes you have to improvise a little!) I placed the large bowl on the tray and filled it up, then got a plate full of food and went to the table. Then I looked back at the buffet, and wouldn't you know it, bikers seem to pay attention to those in front of them, as all of the rest of the big bowls had been dumped of their decorations so the bowls could be used for shrimp too! It's nice knowing sometimes you have a good idea, and that others pay attention to your ideas, even though they don't tell you. While I was peeling the shrimp and eating them, one guy that Mike Busser knew, who was Portuguese, was eating them whole, shell and all ! I just wonder what his tail felt like when he had to do his business a few hours later, as I knew I wouldn't want to be in his shoes to find out ! But it was always a good time out there.
