Came here around 10:15pm, shortly before closing, and had the chicken clay pot rice. It was cooked to order and served piping hot. I haven’t tried this dish elsewhere, but I found it delicious. There was the slight crispness to the rice as expected, and generous portions of chicken and lap cheong. A chili paste provided a welcome touch of heat. Surprised to see so many negative reviews of this place; I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
This food stall is located in the famous food street food area at Resorts World. I was pretty excited to try this dish as I eat claypot rice at home quite a bit. I ordered the beef claypot with rice which consists of Black Pepper Sauce, Sautéed Peppers & Onion, Poached Egg for $16. The rice did have a little crunch to it from being cooked in the claypot. The poached egg was actually poached and not overcooked. The presentation of the dish was beautiful. I couldn't wait to dig in and try it. The beef was tender and had good black pepper flavor. But the dish in it's entirety and when mixed was quite salty. I was only able to eat half of the dish due to that reason, but was able to eat the rest at a later time. The dish still tasted pretty good after being in the fridge for a few hours. I was hoping it would be better overall, but I would try again. The portion size was a good size for one or even to split with other dishes from the food hall.
It’s not clay pot rice. When you get over that fact then it’s a good dish, although very one dimensional, there’s a good enough rice vs ingredients ratio to satisfy. A but on the dry side, would’ve loved to pair this with a side dish.
