Kau Kau Kitchen

Amazing amazing food here at Kau Kau! Fast service and wonderful romantic lighting!

Stopped by here cause I was feening for some Local Islander food and stumbled across Kau Kau Kitchen.

When you walk in you really feel like your home in Hawaii. The service was good and It felt good for one of the workers to acknowledge me as Aunty. For those who don't know it's a gesture of respect.

Place was clean the decor was definitely a Hawaii feel.

Food:
I wanted to order everything on the menu. Lol, but opt for the following:
Side order Lau Lau, Mini Garlic Chicken and a slice of custard pie.

The food was ono. The lau lau had enough salty flavor (and I like salty) and was not overly steamed / cooked. The garlic chicken was equally as good. The juice/sauce was dripping every time I bit into the nicely small sliced chicken. The mac salad and custard pie was also delicious. The only negative for me was the rice. Seems like it's been steaming a bit long and was a little dry.

Overall, I will definitely return again and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for Ono food.

TIP:
Before heading out to the restaurant, make sure you call to see if they're open. They close early if they have a catering event.

The food was fantastic. Very authentic they even had pickled mango. Customer service was great, very friendly. Family atmosphere.
