Great place! Smaller amount of food for the cost but all around great tasting food!

I still have fond memories of eating at Pepper Lunch while stationed in Japan. Flavor-wise this brought back those memories, but there were some definite differences. First off placing your order via iPad here versus simply pressing a button on a vending machine to receive your meal receipt in Japan. The steak I got here was much thicker than what I'd get in Japan, which if you enjoy your meat well done, you might have to send your plate back to be re-plated on another hot plate. I was fine with the thicker cut, but it appears that they do not trim the fat off of the steak here, thus adding to the weight. The price point seemed high for the meal, especially if you are still somewhat hungry afterwards. The wife and I got the same thing, except she got the miso soup instead of rice and the total price was about $49. This was designed as a Japanese fast food restaurant, with a Chili's/Applebees price.

This was a different experience for me. I got the classic beef pepper rice and liked the presentation. After every bite, all I could taste was pepper. I will have to try the premium steak next time, but I was not satisfied with the portion & cost of my meal. The sweet potato fries were good.

Ordering kiosks yielded slower serving than expected, but the tasty, sizzling hot dishes were great! I'd heard about Pepper Lunch before and the location presented a stylish spot to have a fun bite.

First time here, was excited to see them finally opened. Small hassle trying to order on the self serve kiosk. Overall the food was good but service is mostly DIY except when they bring out the food. Lots of interesting things on the menu I want to try.
