lovely concept. menus look like old school composition notebooks. happy hour is called recess. the food is very adult though. i enjoyed the chicken and waffles with red eye gravy, yum. staff are friendly and theres plenty of seats.
Excellent service team work, great food, and a wonderfully complex atmosphere. Open, airy, and yet somehow also cozy. The cocktail menu is creative, both in name and mixology, and the pours are not small. 10/10 for brunch or any other casual meal.
I come to public school 702 fairly regularly and I realized I have never left a review, so here it is.
I’ve been here in large groups, small groups, or by myself and have always had a great experience.
First, the atmosphere is really cool. Can be a bit loud during happy hour, but that shows everyone is having a great time.
Second, the service has always been spot on. I was new to the craft beer scene and the servers or bartenders always suggested and pointed me in the right direction and had me try some new things that I was not familiar with. Some of those have become my new favorites.
The beer selection has gone a little mainstream in the last few months, and I hope it will change back, as they were bringing in a lot of some really unique stuff before.
Third, the food! I have not had a thing off the menu that I didn’t like. Whether it was appetizers during happy hour or lunch or dinner, it has all been very good. My go to has been the chicken sandwich or the What came first. Both are 2 of the most unique flavor combinations and best sandwiches I have ever had. I crave both when I am out of town.
This place is legit. Great food, great service & a great time.
Great happy hour, I mean RECESS, with creative food choices. The buffalo cauliflower is a must have, as well tacos. Wide variety of beer, wine and spirits. Atmosphere is appealing and may bring back some high school memories!
Not sure why Public School 702 isn’t busier. They have great service, great drink selection, great food (especially the fish Tacos!). The set up is very spacious and they also have yard games for your kids can play with while you eat and drink. Definitely recommend this place for Brunch, Lunch and Dinner!
