Me and my husband barely go to the east side but I know well enough.. that when you go to the east side that's when you get the real good Mexican food. It's more common on that side of town. It is our intention that if we ever end up on that side of town we have to get some Mexican food. Our last adventure to the east side found us this place. Since we usually do our research we opted to try something new. We said whichever taco place we see next we will just going to stop there.
This place is located in an empty shopping center area and you wouldn't really see it if you weren't really looking for it. Inside its has a sit-down restaurant style seats but its just regular seating. What you do is go to the register and order food then sit down. They had a certain meal up there that even I wasn't too sure what it was. It sparked my curiosity and asked what it was. She said its a cast iron skillet with marinated pork, bell peppers, onions and covered in CHEESE. Now is the wonderful thing call El Pastorcito. It is the priciest thing on the menu buttttttt I had to get a taste. My husband ordered a Torta which is a Mexican sandwich. They have agua frescas and even MANGO! The skillet came out and the cheese was still bubbling. So be careful cause its HOT. There is enough meat on this skillet to make like 10 tacos. They offered you tortillas. My husbands torta was HUGEEE! One side of the sandwhich is the portion you would get somewhere else. They do have a salsa bar which is kind of hidden and they keep it closed. You have to go to the cashier and ask for the salsa containers. They have a jalapeno, avocado and a red orange sauce that I still havent figured out what it is. I get all three because these salsas are actually spicy. The service was great and its such family oriented place. You see people bring their whole families here during lunch. The prices are fair here and I have been back everytime I come to the east side.
Traditional, good and cheaper!
Great staff, fast preparation of food great staff!
Great tacos really big for only $2.00 each nice lady taking my order I know my Spanish isn't very good but she understood what I was saying
The food is great. Al pastor tacos are off the chain with flavor. I'm so full. They are not fast but they are good. 4 star because they charge for water. I just wanted a cup with ice. SMH.
