Smokin' J's Barbecue

I don't know what kind of tape measure they use in Beatty but the 6 inch brisket bomb was at least 8 or 9 inches long and totally loaded with deliciousness. It was too big for me to finish so they gave me a box to take the remainder with me. Customer service was great. Place was so clean. Food tasted delicious as well. Sorry for the complainers who gave you poor reviews. Our experience at your business excellent. Keep up the good work.

I'm sure if you own a place like this you need to make sure locals will love it and support your business. So there is no place for average food. Tourists will come and go but locals will stay. And when it comes to food, this place did not disappoint. I noticed some locals dining there but I also met a family who was on the road, and just like me, they stopped by and wanted to try this local BBQ place. They were also happy and enjoyed their meal. So, this place gets three five star reviews!

Mood- Barbeque

Upon entering there was a line already going so I figured this must be good. There is a menu above and one on the wall as you are waiting in line for to order. They do have specials they offer but you have to read the sign that is on the front counter re: this

Opted for 1/2 brisket, 1/2 pull pork, 1/2 rib tips, 6 ribs, potato salad, banana pudding, and a couple of fountain drinks. What stole the show for me was the ribs. They were very tender and fell off of the bone.

Interior is several table and chair arrangements plus outdoor seating. Now it does get busy in there, so you may have to wait for a table if you are there during a lunch or dinner rush. There are condiments on each table.

Would recommend for the flavor not the customer service- Pricing is expensive for the portions. I am giving 3 stars due to the service. I saw the guy at the register belittle this elderly couple that was in front of me for asking dietary questions. That was pretty disappointing in my book. I think because this place was listed a "Hidden Gem" for Nevada restaurants it is important to have good customer service and not deter people from wanting to come back or recommend.

Amazing food and super nice staff! I like that their burgers come on really good quality buns and staff really take their time to make sure your food is prepared correctly! I tried the cheeseburger, fresh french cries and banana pudding each item was delicious!! I will come here again when in town! You wont be disappointed!

The ribs were excellent. The rub on them is awesome and the cook is perfect. BBQ sauce is great, as were the beans. The Mac and cheese is the best I have had in the price range. My only nit pick is the mac and cheese was a little dry. I talked to the owner about it and he was already on the problem. Definitely on the list of places to stop if I am back here again.
