We visited Crown Tavern this past weekend. It's a nice place with good crowd and service. We spent about an hour and half. Food was good specially the grilled salmon was cooked to perfection. The veal entrée was a little too oily for us. Overall it was a good experience. Will definitely visit with friends for drinks and apps! Cheers

I went to the Crown last week (Feb 19) for lunch with some coworkers. I had been there a couple months ago during lunchtime and had a great meal, so I was excited to return. The restaurant wasn’t more than half full but the service was very slow. This is understandable, though, since sometimes a restaurant can be short on staff that day or having other reasonable issues that would cause a long wait.

However, it was the meal that really put a damper on the visit. I ordered the cedar planked salmon dish. The fingerling potatoes that came with the meal were cold. Not lukewarm. Not kind warm. No, they were actually cold. And the salmon portion was tiny. The asparagus was fine. Given how it had taken so long to just get our meals, I didn’t have the time to spare to flag down the waiter and ask them to heat up my potatoes.

I’m really hoping that this is not reflective of the experience to be expected at the Crown since it has a reputation among my workplace for being a go-to spot. But there plenty of other options downtown to do lunch where I’ve never had a bad experience like this yet.

Great drinks. Truffle fries are worth the trip. Steak cooked perfectly. Very attentive and friendly wait staff. The only thing that prevents me from giving a 5 star review is a very overwhelming garlic smell throughout the restaurant.

My wife and I had dinner at the Crown Tavern on Friday night. It's a fun, modern place that has a retro diner feel. The food, service, and drinks were all topnotch. We started with the oysters, and found them fresh and full of flavor. The mains were also very good. My wife had the roasted chicken, I had the burger. Both meals were well-prepared and had great flavor. Dessert was the apple crumble, which was very satisfying.

We had a wonderful experience and will be back next time we're in town.

This was my third time here, first time for lunch. We have had excellent experiences for lunch and dinner. Today, I enjoyed the spicy chicken sandwich and my mother had the salmon. They were both very tasty and cooked well. We had no wait at 1:00 and were attended to with care.
