As a wedding photographer, I was truly amazed to see how well the team at the Inn took care of my couple & her family. They went above and beyond to make their intimate wedding one that I'll remember for years to come. It was so incredibly special and I now see them as a model for how all venues should be!

We went thinking we'd get the 5 course fixed price meal, but I must've read the website wrong because we ended up only having the three course. Not a big deal as the portions were fair. The waitstaff was friendly, but not overbearing. Even though she only had two other tables, she didn't hover and paid us just the right amount of care. The food was good, the salmon was cooked well as well as the short rib. The ingredients were fresh. I've been wowed by food before, and although this didn't taste out of this world, it still should be counted as good food because of the freshness and attention to flavor combinations. The atmosphere is very comfortable which I loved, but it was a slow night and I felt like the other tables could hear everything I said (mostly because I could hear everything they said) My boyfriend and I really like to disappear into a crowd, so it wasn't optimal for us, but if you like that sort of thing, it's a good space to find some peace. We'll be going back to try other entrees and hopefully to enjoy a busier evening.

My fiancee and I had our wedding here and we absolutely loved it! We rented out six rooms at the inn and they were all incredibly clean, comfortable, and well decorated. The staff was also top notch, as they were both extremely nice and tremendously helpful, ensuring that we had everything we needed and that even the smallest things were entirely taken care of. We also did our wedding dinner at the inn in their restaurant, Oak & Grain, and both the food and the experience was exceptional as well. They customized the menu specifically for us, and we had a wonderful time working with the chef to do so. I would highly recommend this inn for both large events and a weekend small getaway. It has everything you need, an exceptional location and view, and the perfect people to make sure you have a wonderful experience!

They say that consistency is the hallmark of excellence and The Inn at Pleasant Lake makes this point emphatically, every time we visit.

In my opinion, the ideal country inn blends several different elements seamlessly, resulting in an atmosphere of soothing calm. Great location is a must - you’ll find the lakeside setting, framed by nearby mountains, is as cozy as it is dramatic. A building with genuine charm and character is also important and this rambling edifice dates back to the late 18th century, a fascinating page of New Hampshire history. Don’t be deceived, however, 21st century creature comforts abound, making for a luxurious and relaxing stay.

Great country inns are owned by people, not corporations; Jennifer and Scott Reed set the tone for everything that happens here. You can see their skill and attention to detail throughout the facility. The pleasure they take in what they do is also evident in all staff members; one gets the impression that Jennifer and Scott are very careful about hiring professionals who enjoy the work of providing visitors with a delightful experience.

Last, and certainly not least, is the food. Bryan Leary is something between a master chef and an artist. His descriptions of the 5-course dinners he prepares are alluring in and of themselves. The dishes are wonderfully inventive, elegant, and invariably beyond delicious. Whether enjoying breakfast or afternoon tea, the food at The Inn at Pleasant Lake is always splendid.

I once told Jennifer and Scott, “There are places so good that one wants to share them with others. Then there are places so good that one doesn’t want to tell anyone about them.” Understand, dear reader, in a perfect world I would keep The Inn at Pleasant Lake for myself.

This was not our first stay at the Inn, but our first as wedding attendants- cannot say enough how incredible the weekend was! From the staff, to the rooms, to the food, to the spaces for rehearsal dinner-ceremony-cocktails-dinner- and dancing, everything was flawless!
The barn is such a great space for a wedding, cozy, open, and perfect for dancing.
The food, as always, was other-worldly... cheers to Chef Brian!!
We will be back- love you guys!
