Il Cornicello

Absolutely fantastic. The food was fantastic. There service was perfect. It's cozy and welcoming and the drinks hit the spot.

Incredible dinner. We have been out of Exeter for a year, moved back to discover Il Cornicello. With Covid & winter, I refuse to eat inside a restaurant, so we ordered take out. DE-LISH-US!! (Delicious!). The Arancino was some of the best my husband or I have had. He got the Bolognese & LOVED it. I got the Bamberi Ubriachi Polenta (shrimp & polenta) and adored it. The takeout held well on my short trip home. I had a choice of olive oils with our grilled bread, and am so happy with the entire experience. The service & professionalism were exceptional. The kitchen staff all wore their masks without fiddling with them “behind the scenes” (I’ve seen other restaurants where the staff pulls their masks off when they think no one can see them.) I applaud & appreciate the extra effort to keep staff & patrons safe.

When I saw the portions when I got home I was a bit worried that it wasn’t enough food. Wrong- it was more than enough & I even couldn’t finish!
Well done guys! We will be back.. for takeout, and after Covid, fingers crossed, to eat inside & enjoy the atmosphere and taste the wine selection! ??

Wonderful fresh food, drinks and lovely service and atmosphere - can’t get much better than that! My only complaint is that it’s not open on weekends but I was told that the hours may chance eventually due to some other circumstances, fingers crossed!
