“No fuss, just good food, good value, and good service. Definitely worth a stop! Edit: wanted to add that yes, they were sold out of some items, but I’d much rather see a small business sell out than not. Sounds like smart mgmt and strong demand”

“Valley vegan is amazing! So impressed with all the baked goods and desserts. The Apple crescent puff pastries, the lemon/raspberry bars, the cinnamon crumble coffee cake, the chocolate everything truly is amazing. The best bakery type foods I’ve ever had and it’s vegan! Wish they had another store in Southern NH. So impressed with this place. We have been here twice and definitely am coming back!!!”

“Great place to grab a donut, coffee or a sandwich in the morning. Employees are very friendly and the food taste very good!”

“After hiking to the Belknap firetower we stopped in to the Gilford Village Store for lunch. We were really impressed with the quality of the food and portion size. The veggies on the cali sandwich were perfectly fresh. Everything in the dessert case looked amazing! The jelly donut cheesecake was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. We will have to find other hikes to do in the area just to have an excuse to stop in again!”

“Delicious custom made ice cream with a unique way of production. I would definitely recommend this ice cream place! My favorite thing is that it has accommodations for vegans and non vegans. The only thing I would change is the price of the products . ( simply because who doesn’t love more than one topping haha .85 per topping you add blah ha).”

“Ice cream is good. Bought an ice cream cake for my kids birthday. The ice cream part of the cake was great, but the cake part tasted dry and old. Also they didn’t sell candles which is an oversight.”

“Always loved this place. Good bread and lunch spot. However, be prepared to get this much chicken salad as a side for $5.50. I tend to prefer smaller portions and this was a little light in portion size even for my taste. Otherwise great spot.”

“Great food, felt like a home cooked meal which was really nice. As “newfound rookies” we had a nice chat with the owner who was incredibly kind and helpful and gave us some recommendations for fun local activities that we’re definitely going to check out! Atmosphere was lovely as well and as a bonus it was an incredibly short drive from where we’re staying for the week. Highly recommend!”

“What a great find. A wonderful selection of coffees, and you cannot go wrong with any of the baked goods. We didn't try a breakfast item but I sm guessing that they will be equally well prepared! The almond raspberry scone and the coconut macaroon were perfect.”

“Some of the best gluten free baking I’ve had (even the dairy free is incredible-can’t even tell). Ally goes above and beyond to make sure your cakes are exactly what you want. Her combination of flavors is brilliant (anything she pairs with the coffee buttercream is 🤩). Plus, she has a heart for her community and gives back whenever she can. She is what a small business should be!”

“This was one of my Favorite stops on my trip up to NH. The baked goods were beyond amazing, had to come back get a to go for breakfast the next day. The owner was gracious and kind and makes you feel immediately at home. Everything had the hometown feel you want a local coffee shop to have. Will be back next visit to NH for sure.”

“I have been there twice.. once for pastrami Reuben with chicken vegetable soup and the second time just kielbasa potato soup. The sandwich was a little pricey for what you got but the flavor was still great.. and the soups were amazing 👍”

“Good food options with veggie friendly choices for Breakfast and Lunch. Had the Fresh Start breakfast bagel and it was definitely tasty. Also tried the Peanut Butter Cup smoothie and it also was good - not to frozen and easy to drink. Not my favorite Macchiato though.”

“Cute little ice-cream spot in downtown Portsmouth. I got fried dough with ice-cream and I really enjoyed it. They had a pretty good variety of flavors to choose from. Lots of local places around had been closed due to staffing and I hope places like this can stay afloat. I recommend it.”

“Portsmouth satellite of the main Kittery location, but with a full menu of their awesome & inventive donuts, including their extensive gluten free selection. Flavors change frequently and with the seasons - today they had pumpkin cream cheese, apple bourbon, cranberry Berliner and more. I'd actually forgotten they are vegan, too - you just don't notice. It's takeout only: no toilets, no seating.”

“We landed here by chance but we decided to give it a try. I liked the lay out of the place, the space man cut out and the couches. Their menu isn’t very large but their bread and bakery items are baked in house which is great. I ordered the blueberry turkey sandwich, it had sliced turkey, apples, lettuce and blueberry jam, turkey BLT, spicy BLT a grilled cheese and 3 smoothies and a plain croissant. Smoothies were a bit pricey for the size but everything is fresh, the croissant was really good. Although their menus is small, all food items were good, the only downside was that I would have expected to taste the pineapple on my smoothie but I didn’t.”

“Harvey’s will never let you down! From an amazing breakfast to incredible bakery items, everything I’ve gotten from here has been fantastic. The service in both the restaurant and the bakery is always outstanding. Everything we’ve gotten from the bakery has been delicious, but most notable is the “pink lemonade” cake I got here after absolutely butchering a homemade cake for a birthday. I came in panicked and in need of a birthday cake for the day of, and I had so many choices for ready-to-go cakes! They even put writing on it for me and totally saved the day. Everyone loved it!”

“Quick drive thru service and great quality bagels. However, I was thrown off by the default cheese on my bacon egg and cheese being mozzarella. It was a good sandwich just not the typical you’d expect.”

“Those donuts were delicious! the best! Great Assortment and so much better than Dunkin. Just go inside if you have a big order because the drive through line is FAST.”

“The obsession with specialty coffee is clear here; they offer a range of rare coffees, and you can watch the roaster operating in the corner of the room! For people interested in specialty coffee, this really must be the best spot in the Merrimack Valley. The food is delicious as well, and the service is very friendly. They have local art on the wall (for sale I think), and they have live music sometimes. The only disappointment is that they really need some renovation to make it a nicer place to sit and enjoy everything they have to offer. Despite this, Coffee Coffee is an absolute gem to any coffee lover.”

“I was greeted when I walked in. A young woman with blonde hair, I am not going to mention her name to prevent unwanted "friends" on her social media accounts, interacted with customers and answered questions, especially about Americus restaurant. Wines and other drinks, wine 🍷 accessories, a cafe, take home 🏡 food and limited seating are also inside. Great 👍 service from other staff members. I found housewarming gifts for my family. Around the side of the building the ticket 🎫 booth was located. Friendly service there as well. I recommend a visit! I don't even drink 🍷 wine and I liked it. If you don't like crowds, you may not want to visit. The LaBelle Lights Fire and Ice festival was actually on the golf ⛳ course grounds next to the Market. It was freezing 🥶 cold so shows were limited. A young woman was spinning a flaming baton in her hand. The cold wind were so strong it blew out the 🔥 fire! The Christmas lights were interesting. The walk takes about ten minutes, but, taking photos is very popular and adds time. The fire they lit was great to warm up by, but, didn't seem safe with the wind and lawn starting to burn. I still had a good time!”

“Absolutely loved and enjoyed this place! Took a trip up from the Keene area with a friend and our babies and it was a true joy! Delicious coffee and food! Very clean and my baby girl absolutely loved the play area and all the kids to play with! Great experience and it was nice to connect with other moms with children in the same age group! Would definitely go back! Left some donations in the blessing corner!”

“Our favorite local sweets spot! The cutest little pastries and deserts too! Their new bagels however🤙so excited to see them growing! Definitely wicked good 😘”

“The Sweet Spot is a real find. Everything is made from scratch, with ingredients you know the names of! The breakfast sandwiches come on a fresh made biscuit, and the sandwiches on home-made bread. The desserts are to die for. The lemon bars are super lemony, the eclairs are unbelievably rich and creamy, and even the donuts taste light and fresh. The bakery used to be known for its pies, and owner/baker Jackie has been improving on them. I’ve only had time to try to one, and I picked my favorite strawberry rhubarb. Both the crust and the filling were great. Jackie says the key lime pie is her best, so I have to try that next. The place itself is bright and cozy. It’s a nice spot to sit and enjoy some coffee and conversation. Chat with the new owners, Jackie and Jim. They are anxious to please. (They are not the grumpy owners mentioned in reviews from last year.) They take into account what their customers say and, as an example, have started baking some gluten free products because customers requested them. Long-time local residents, Jackie is an experienced baker who decided to open her own shop. She uses only fresh ingredients, and she knows what she’s doing with them! Jim is an old hand at breakfast treats and sandwiches. He’s introduced his grandmother’s pork pie (“Big Ma’s” pie). That’s a take-away item and I haven’t tried it yet, but other customers were raving about it. I highly recommend trying this place.”

“Best donuts in the region, especially their old fashioned donuts (IMHO). Their donuts are never greasy or "heavy" and very flavorful. They make the best apple fritters I've ever had! They brew excellent New England brand coffee. The people are wonderful; always helpful. Have been coming here for years and always satisfied. Have recommended them to many people who had same experience. I miss going in the store since COVID, but SO GLAD they are still offering window service!”

“I've been coming here for YEARS! Always fresh and delicious bagels and bakery items. The staff may change but they are always very kind and polite. Good selection of coffees and food. Never once had a bad experience. I highly recommend them.”

“I remembered this Deli from a stop here last year. Been here twice in the last two weeks. This is not the place where they count out the pieces of cheese, deli meat or the meatballs. I went for the white tuna salad sub and needed a fork to put back the tuna salad that was oozing out the sides. Unlike the "national chains", with a huge exposure, it's the little shops that are hidden away that need to be highlighted so that they can survive. If you have a chance, stop by and give Big Dave's a try. You will get a great sandwich. It's August 2021 and I'm back at Big Dave's. I've been away because I live in Arizona. In the last 4 days, I've been to Big Dave's twice. This time I had the chicken salad sandwich both times. Delicious and a sandwich worthy of praise. While I won't mention any competitors, we all know the one that measures everything. God forbid you got an extra meatball in their 6-inch sub by mistake. At Big Dave's, you will not be disappointed.”
