First time at Council Oak Fish. Local resident making way around AC for restaurant week 2019. Waiter's name was Yasser who was very pleasant and attentive. The food was very good and the portion sizes were generous for s restaurant week menu. Calamari, cioppino, Brussels sprouts, chocolate bread pudding. Mmmm
We dined here prior to a show in the Etess Arena in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino where we were staying.
The long front dining area offered a great view of the Boardwalk.
~Our server explained that a la carte sides were large and meant to be shared. Unfortunately my husband and I do not share the same tastes.
~I ordered the Escarole salad, but was served a Caesar salad. Not a ruffle of Escarole in sight. As we had show tickets, and had scheduled ourselves a little more than 2 hours to dine and didn't want a further delay I said nothing. The Caesar was very tasty.
~My Lobster and Shellfish pot was excellent, a real taste experience.
~However my husband said his Bone-in Filet was only OK. A $60 filet should never be "OK".
~In addition, after cracking my own lobster, it is customary to either serve a finger bowl, a hot, damp linen napkin or at least a lemon hand wipe, but nothing appeared. Luckily I had hand sanitizer in my evening bag.
~When it came time to pay our bill we left our credit card in the black folder and our waiter never came to get it. As we were now on our way to the show, we left cash instead and left.
All in all, the meal was a good experience but not for the $200+ bill.
The food was excellent. The Staff very nice. The Chief and Head Waiter very attentive. I had a great time.
We ordered wood fried octopus, king salmon and swordfish. The fish was cooked perfectly but the portions are a joke. My swordfish came with nothing on the plate. King salmon had a little salad. We sat in the lounge area. Service was excellent. We were listening to nice music during our meal.
