This is my go-to-place for Ramen in NY area. This ramen bar is inside of Mitsuwa supermarket. On weekend, I will recommend you to go there at 11 am or a bit earlier in order to avoid the long waiting line. The main menu is Ramen obviously. You can choose Shio (salt-based) Syouyu (soy-sauce based), Tonkotsu (pork-based), Miso, or Spicy Miso soup. My favorite is spicy miso soup. Noodle is al dente. I think particularly good topping here is Toroniku (marinated pork). You can add Toroniku. I usually order the Toroniku spicy large ramen. Now certainly competition is more intense for Ramen in NY area but this place is still leading the Ramen scene.

Always waiting in long line! But it's worth waiting.... So hard to get a genuine Japanese Ramen here in NJ... Tell you what --- うまい!

Great place, best ramen. I’ve tried Santouka in LA and here in Jersey, ramen tastes the same. Satisfied with the quality

Can't believe I never posted a review of this place. Quite simply, if we are ever in the Edgewater vicinity for any reason, a visit to Santouka is always a consideration! We go here for only one type of ramen - toroniku salt ramen. Let's break it down:
Noodles - excellent, firm and perfect but to go with the ...
Broth - super salty and a bit fatty with...
Toroniku - slices of slightly porky, tender cheek meat char siu with naruto and bamboo shoots meant to be added to your ramen

The place is cash only so be prepared. Seating is a bit tough so bring a friend to grab a seat while you wait. The shops share a water dispenser (you'll want lots of it). Parking can be a bit challenging - I've never seen the place not busy.

Long queue time but worth the long wait time. The ramen is delicious.
