Former location of the same type of Chinese food restaurant ' Tommy Cheng.' Groomed before closing, this was a private handover to a family looking to invest in expanding into Chinese takeout. Notable diffence: immediately the food most commonly packaged in prior tin foil base and cheap thin plastic is replaced with a deigned thicker single size circular base and see through thick plastic cover for a tight fit. It impressed me for Chinese takeout as usually they tend to match the same normal cheap container that obviously costs next to nothing. This is much better since the fit prevents any leaks unlike almost always a way for manual tin foil sealing to fail a cheap plastic cover from..well let's just say if you eat Chinese don't drive and expect any of your food to leak out let alone if it has sauce. So this is nice! Thats not the product that matters most unfortunately which is food. My first opening of the wax paper holding egg rolls costing more was.. they must have the wrong order but egg rolls are like pizza and it's like seeing half of your slice size when open the Box. The trend was confirmed. Portion sizes are without any need to bust out digital scales less food with more money. And get this!!!! I ordered by phone my usual lunch special.. or I tried to but was told sorry.. They charge premium on Sunday with no lunch specials. This is without a doubt the oddest thing I expected to be finding. I couldn't understand this normal every Chinese place that doesn't stand out but is exactly what you know, but makes weird rules you can't find out and then try a second chance to only get the next gag... Monday is off! An alternative to Chinese that you won't appreciate. And the food isn't as good as Tommy Cheng either making me not drive from Oakland for just this place anymore. I'll be stuck with status quo and on the chance I ever needed Chinese in order to live, I'd be plenty content on the 5 minute walk that is actually open and has prices and food that would be acceptable even if the Flys still are flying around the oakland restaurant
We have tried several Chinese places, this one turns out to be our favorite. Great food.
The food there was absolutely exquisite. Best Chinese food in town!
The food at the restaurant is great. I especially enjoy the orange chicken that has actual orange peels to give the chicken more orange flavor. The food is delicious and I would definitely recommend to try out this place
