Gouldsburger’s

You can get a burger cooked to any temp and my medium rare burger was cooked perfectly. The man working the counter even came out to check which was nice service. $6 for French Fries is excessive but I’d return for the burger. Nice to sit outside on the sidewalk too!

Different Cheesesteak #1134. Recently I have been called a sell out to fancy cheeses and rolls. I think I have evolved into enjoying fancy cheeses and rolls. I completely appreciate what Gouldsburger’s trying to do with their cheesesteak. Unfortunately my meat was a miss. I’m glad they used a thicker slice of meat because the piece of meat that wasn’t fatty and gristly was very good. Mushrooms, fried onions and cheese add great flavor. I’m a fan of the roll.

Forager melt was really tasty and the beef is excellent. Cheesesteak is good, but it could be great. The roll is incredible as is the beef, but the ratio of cheese is overwhelming for me. This is just my opinion and a lot of people may enjoy it. I'm just more particular with my cheesesteaks, since I'm from Philly. I wanted to order fries, but they ran out so I got fried pickles instead and they were fine. The burger is definitely the highlight and the service was friendly.

I have heard so many outstanding reviews for this place, so it’s very possible our experience was a fluke. If I try it again and it changes I will definitely add to my review. We ordered two burgers and an order of fries. The burgers themselves are impressive, it’s so great to have real meat patties that are cooked exactly as you request. The onion rings on mine were huge and not crispy, so that was a bummer. As far as the fries, it could be that the person doing our food today was just heavy-handed but they were so salty that I couldn’t eat them and my daughter could only eat them after wiping them off. I love well seasoned food, but this was way too much. So it was an underwhelming experience, but we’ll try again another time to see if it improves.

Be prepared for a wait, but the wait is well worth it. We got the hamburger, cheesesteak, spicy fried chicken sandwich, and onion rings- all absolutely delicious. We went on a very busy Saturday around 12:30, and waited about 30 minutes (enough time to walk around a little bit). It would definitely be nice to have some sort of buzzer or text when ready, instead of having to stay near to hear our name. I’m already ready to go back for round two!!
