The Blue Pig Tavern

We waited a bit without being greeted. Other people walked in after us that were staying at the hotel and almost left. The man that finally came to the front was nice when he seated us. The waitress was nice and attentive. I got a waffle and bacon which was good. I loved the decor. I definitely want to go back for lunch.

My fiance and I have recently been on an unintentional tour of historic restaurants, and so we found ourselves at the Blue Pig Tavern during a day trip to Cape May. First off, the history contained in Congress Hall and the truly unique space can't go unmentioned. Originally founded in 1816, Congress Hall did burn down later in 1878, but was rebuilt quickly and still holds the historic charm of being built in the late 1800s.

For my entree, I got the Chicken BLT, which I very much enjoyed. The flavors all came together perfectly and everything on the sandwich was done just right. The bacon had a nice crisp, while the chicken wasn't overdone. It came with a side of crispy, tasty fries as well.

I definitely recommend coming here, and not just for the history and ambiance. I'm sure we'll be back.

The service here was incredible. The scallops and filet were reasonably priced and extremely tasty! Incorporates farm to table from local Cape May farm.

We had Christmas dinner at the ballroom buffet. Dinner was delicious and a great variety. The staff were friendly, courteous and very pleasant. I would definitely go back again. Thank you for a pleasant day.
