DOMODOMO Jersey City

Great new addition to the jersey city restaurant scene. We did the tasting menu and it worth it. Service is nice and friendly. We really liked how the meal was innovative and not a redux of the same sushi menu you seem to get at other sushi restaurants. The spirit selection is also above average. Will definitely go back some back and recommend to anyone. The venue is not huge but the service is relatively quick so no long dragged out meals. Portions are good, maybe a little on the small side. Fish was very high quality and presentation fun and appetizing.

Sushi was great - their salmon was insanely delicious. Drinks were OK, but that was just me. My wife enjoyed the drinks. We'll definitely be visiting again!

Taste great, with both bar and table inside. But for some particular food it is available at bar only.

Service also good, we sit at table then switched to bar for the food. Staff are helpful.

Price depends on what you order, most expensive one is 80 dollars. Tax is included in the menu and they do not accept tips. So whatever you see in menu will be the final price you pay.

Paid parking lot across the street, nice coffee place right beside.

The food is great but they added so many menu rules that it ruins the experience. We were literally trying to spend more money by ordering more stuff off the menu, and were just told that it was not allowed. The excuse was that the seaweed would get too crispy if the courses were not sequenced right. We also waited an hour even though there were empty tables. Also, the bottle of white wine we ordered was brought to our table warm and we had to wait for it to chill at the table. Expected better.

An excellent eating experience.. from walking in the door and being greeted by the hostess, seated and drink order taken, was maybe 5 minutes. Any of the hot items ordered were served hot and were absolutely delicious... All of the sushi was of the highest quality. I would recommend this restaurant not only for the best Japanese in Jersey City, NJ but as one of the best restaurants here in general!!
