Route 1 Diner Restaurant

I came in late on Valentine's Day and this place was packed! My waitress (Star) was like an efficient tornado on legs. I love the way this place feels and it is very clean and very friendly.

Mediocre, again basic diner menu with some positive and a few negatives. Ordered a California burger. The burger itself was cooked as requested (medium rare), but the bacon was cardboard and unappealing. Wilted lettuce and tomatoes on the edge of being over ripe. Jarred Cole slaw, frozen onion rings. Both good, the presentation wasn't bad. My companion had breakfast, pancakes with Italian sausage. The sausage was removed from the casing and flattened which detracted from the presentation. Oh and we were charged $4.00. For a glass of milk. 50/50 if I ever go back

I'm not a usual diner patron for completely unknown reasons, but we were craving pancakes and decided to check this one out. Very comfortable feel and friendly staff. Pancakes are great as are the home fries, sausage and bacon. My eggs were under-cooked from what I ordered (over-medium), but that's not a show stopper for me. Service was great. We didn't try anything from the desert case, but all of the baked goods looked delicious. Pro tip: if you like your bacon crispy or extra crispy, specify that. It seems like they err on the side of caution in terms of doneness, but I can completely respect that. I rate this spot very high on the diner-scale.

Thus restaurant is a classic diner. There is a large selection of foods from which to choose. The quality is good as far as diner food goes. It's a diner, not a gourmet eating establishment. The service is good. The staff is friendly and welcoming.

Never a fail there!!! If you are looking for "diner food" its a sure spot!! I know the menu is extensive but i usually stick to the diner fare so can't really rate the main dishes....hope this helps!! Plus the staff is usually great!! More than accommodating!!
