Urban Tacos Mexican Grill

It's fine. It's just that cheese. Salsaritas seemed to have much better cheese. I'm not feeling that cheddar sadly. Almost as good as Salsaritas but little bit disappointed

Very good food. Generous portions and reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Vegetarian review: The food is tasty and the portions are nice. If the Chipotle tofu mix is not up to your palate – give the tofu mix here a try. It is more flavorful, broken down into smaller granules and is a lot less chewy. The only downside in terms of ingredients are the grilled peppers and onions which seem too oily and overdone to the point they lose their firmness. Coupled with this and the fact I found meat in my entrees on two occasions - have turned me off from revisiting them.

Urban Taco is nice in the way that there is a salsa bar with a selection of their concoctions. It is a pleasant reminder of the experience at Baja Fresh which has unfortunately shut shop across most of New Jersey.

However, if you’re trying to avoid meat – I would warn you to be careful as on two occasions my vegetarian entrees had pieces of chicken and some other meat in it. Apparently, the meat fell into the container that holds the grilled peppers and onions when the spoons were traveling over it for other orders.

A simple fix for this would be to move the vegetarian containers towards the top row or line then up to the right most column to prevent spillage into them as spoons carrying meat are brought forward.

The guys that man the counter station however – are very sweet and accommodating.

We came during lunch, everyone got tacos. They give a choice of hard and soft shell. Variety of meat choices a la Chipotle. For some reason they skipped putting rice, beans on our tacos, but they did after we asked to put it on top. You can order a meal, which includes chips and a drink. There are a lot of chips. There are three free kinds of salsa you can self-serve at any time, which we liked. Atmosphere was like a regular pizzeria or deli lunch spot, not fancy in any way.

Urban tacos is DELICIOUS and all the food is Fresh!!!! The staff is always friendly and helpful everytime I stop in ...the tables are always clean and never have I seen it dirty or deglected... I love Mexican food and grew up in California ....so I know good Mexican food and this is the best place to get hot, fresh and tasty food.... Give them a try. I eat here twice a week and love it!!! Highly recommend it!!!!
