I visited this place while on tour from Nashville, Tn. The atmosphere was very relaxing and friendly. We sat at the counter and were greeted by a couple servers and the owner. We started to order the seafood platter but the owner told us we didn’t want that. I told him to make us whatever he thought we should have. He made two pastrami on rye right in front of us. A sweet server offered us some fresh pork rolls while we waited. The sandwiches came up with some fresh fries and we dug in. It was amazing. Everything I could want on a first visit to New Jersey. 10/10 would go back!

By far the best Reuben I’ve ever had! They don’t put an overwhelming amount of corned beef on it, just the perfect amount! It’s a decent size. I will definitely be back in the future!

Solid eatery. Dated atmosphere works perfect here! Food is plenty and reasonably priced.

Fair Warning First! —> 1. Cash Only! 2. Be prepared to wait if it’s summertime, and keep in mind that because of it’s location, parking doesn’t always come easy. It’s DEFINITELY worth the effort & wait, and the seating time is reasonably fast. 3. If you’re going there for breakfast, just know that the Orange Juice is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced! You can choose between fresh squeezed (which tastes amazing!) or Tropicana. The medium glass is tiny, and will cost you 5 bucks or more! This is honestly the only downside of the restaurant, and it really bugs me because I love the food. I’ve been there many times, with many different people with never a complaint or disappointment. Everything on the menu is excellent. The bakery selection is quite impressive. The cooks, waitresses, owners, and busboys/girls all work together like a well-oiled machine. It’s totally worth the history, environment, and fantastic food!

Great food and they lived up to their ratings. Great fresh roast beef, homemade Mac salad and it was great to be greeted by the two nice women at the door when I arrived. Only reason I deducted a star was service. The waitress was disappointing and seemed to just be going through the motions. As I ordered I asked what came on the sandwich she mentioned what she could kind of remember, in the mix she said mayo. The sandwich came out, brought by another server and no mayo. The waitress never came back until she dropped the check on the table, next to my empty iced tea glass and said no rush and walked. I didn't want to inconvenience her since it was obvious I had burdened her in some way. I struggled to leave $3 on a $16 ticket, which normally is a $5 tip for me, and I can never not tip, that would be as poor as I was treated. Everyone else seemed great and it was a great place overall.
