Good service and needs update
Beautiful views overlooking the water. We have eaten here 8-10 times over the past 15 years. This last time will be just that, our last time visiting Sunset Landing. The prices are high for the amount of food provided. Here is a picture of the cinnamon raisin French toast I ordered on August 10, 2018. The slices of bread are ridiculously thin, nearly transparent (dramatic imagery used for effect)...I left still feeling hungry. Worth noting, you cannot modify any items on the menu. They are strict about this, no off menu orders. Also, they only take cash.
We visited on a Friday morning, not at all busy but didn’t get a warm comfortable feeling while eating, sitting or when leaving. Our servers were polite but needed to be reminded of items ordered or for more coffee. We don’t have high expectations for breakfast restaurants especially one like this that you can wear flip flops and a bathing suit. We left feeling disappointed by the overall experience. If you take a chance and try Sunset Landing for the beautiful views, don’t say you weren’t warned about the portions, cost and overall experience.
Take a trip back in time in Asbury Park. Family owned for generations. it's not fancy, but it feels retro. The menu is very extensive. They make a very nice crab and avocado omelette. They also split and throw a crumb cake on the grill and then butter it. WHo knew we needed that? No one. But it's very tasty. This spot is on the lake and you can see geese and ducks sunning themselves while you eat breakfast/lunch. Service is friendly-ish but not overbearing.
A local landmark with great homemade food! A great surf themed atmosphere with wonderful staff and very approachable owners. Beautiful views of the water as well.
The food is delicious and fresh. The Larkin Special is a great sandwich and there are always amazing specials listed on the chalkboards.
Unfortunately the prices have crept up over the years and the food isn't the value it once was but at least there are free refills on the coffee!
