“I attended a wedding here in late October. While they had the benefit of perfect weather, I have to say that everything went as smoothly as possible, especially considering it one of, if not the first wedding they've hosted. The wedding ceremony was at the top a hill on the property a short walk from the barn that had a spectacular view of the mountains and valley (a wagon and golf carts were available for those not willing or able to make the walk). Cocktail hour was held in the garden, and although it got a bit cooler as the night went on, heaters and bonfires were lit for warmth. The barn has been beautifully restored and it as comfortable as any country club or banquet hall I've attended other weddings at.”

“This establishment is a hidden gem in Vernon. But don’t let that fool you, it gets very busy. My husband and two children frequent here weekly. Sometimes when the kids are at school we will sneak away for lunch which usually consists of breakfast food because they make amazing eggs and killer pancakes. The servers are so nice. The coffee is delicious and the atmosphere is very welcoming.”

“The food is s absolutely amazing!!! The mussels were so juicy and tender and the sauce was fantastic. The pan fried chicken sandwich was so tender it melted in your mouth and the pizza is the best around. The strawberry salad had the perfect amount of dressing and the Zeppoli‘s were the perfect size and delicious. If you want really amazing and fantastic food then go to Nonna Vita.”

“We were looking for someplace different between our house and our friends. As I searched restaurants in the area and happened upon the Walpack Inn. Loved the rustic nature of this place from the pictures and the menu looked amazing. When I sent the link to Kim I got an immediate yes let's try this place. The drive was beautiful it took us the the Delaware National Rec. Area. As we arrived the parking lot was already full for the 3 o'clock happy hour which was a good indication of the quality of Walpack given the remote nature of the restaurant. We walked in and immediately fell in love open beam ceilings a huge 1st one fireplace with a wood fire burning. We sat at a table near the fire in the bar area and enjoyed a glass of Malbec. We put in for a table in the dining room at 5. The dining room has huge glass windows overlooking a wildlife area where they feed wildlife. Our meal started with the salad bar and amazing homemade bread. Kim had the salmon and I had the NY Strip with scallops. Both were incredible and paired nicely with the cabaret. We shared a mint chocolate chip pie which was also very good. We will definitely be back and highly recommend you make the trip.”

“Excellent first-time visit! It's incredibly hard to find a good restaurant anywhere in or near Sussex County, so I'm always very excited when a new one pops up. This place had nice ambiance, really great food, friendly staff, and they were very accommodating for my young kids. I got to try a number of dishes there, and was very impressed from the WARM dinner rolls all the way through to the excellent chocolate cake dessert. We had two different steak dishes in our party, and both were excellent. I highly recommend this place. If you live in the area, get down here and give them business so that they stick around!”

“Mengos pizza is the place to go when you are hungry. Specialty pizza’s and penne vodka are awesome. Sub sandwiches and dinners are tasty and varied. Eggplant Wraps are one of my favorites as well as BBQ/buffalo chicken. Weekly specials and family friendly atmosphere. Does catering and also offers delivery. Steve the owner is a good guy who always does his best to help the community. He supports the local schools and sports teams. You can go for a nice dinner or a quick bite depending on your mood and there’s always something new they are creating. I highly recommend them not only for their food but also for their quality of service, and atmosphere.”

“I've probably eaten more than half the items on the menu, plus specials. I love this place but it is the priciest of all the pizza type places around, so bear that in mind. Most recently I tried the Lobster Raviolis with grilled shrimp and it was amazing!!”

“A decent place to stop for a sandwich. Better than most but not the best. For the price you expect more but you don't have choice out here.”

“This place has so much personality and charm; it is truly a hidden gem. It's a great place to stop after a summer day on the river, or on a cold winter night. Disguised as a dive bar, it's easy to pass by. Flatbrook has classic pub food, pizza, and cold drinks- they have awesome wings and are known for their deep-fried calzones. There is nothing fancy or pretentious here, which is exactly how its loyal patrons like it. What you see is what you get. If you come on a Friday or Saturday night, be prepared to wait a little longer for your meal because this place is slammed with locals and takeout orders... grab a beer and an appetizer and enjoy the "local watering hole" ambience... maybe have an actual conversation with the people you came with, or play some music on the classic jukebox.”

“Always fresh and always scrumptious! Homemade sandwiches, soups, quiche, omelettes, smoothies, coffee and baked goods. Appreciate the extra effort they take to cook and bake from scratch with their own, and locally grown, produce. Our favorite place for delectable breakfast and lunch.”

“We love Kathy’s! We have been coming here about twice a week since we moved to Fredon over ten years ago. Their fries are the best anywhere! I brought a friend from India and she said she had her best meal in all of America at Kathy’s! A great place, where the people treat you like friends, and the food (Florentine omelettes and tuna melts, yum!) is always great).”

“Have come here multiple times - the one word I can use to describe this place: consistent. Every meal I have here is cooked to perfection, deliciously seasoned and the staff are attentive and very pleasant. The owners put their heart into this place and it honestly shows. To whomever had a bad experience, you must have come on an off night because I have come here at least twice a month the past three months and have never experienced a bad meal or had any issue. We will continue to bring our business here for many years to come!”
