(TL:DR Delicious food, but service was a turn off.) Arriving in town for work, my client made a reservation for 7:20pm on Friday 14th, the prior Tuesday. We arrived at 7:30pm and the reservation was missing, but no problem. The host was amazing and seated us immediately even with a 90-95% capacity. The clock strikes 8:00pm and we failed to get the attention of any server. I went to grab the attention of the host, but suddenly the place was packed with a dozen people waiting to be seated. I was able to ask the adjacent server if we could put in an order and she said someone would come over. Awesome. 5 minutes later a new guy arrives at our table and mentioned the manager asked that he take an extra table. We put in our entire drink/food order at once. By 8:15pm we still hadn't received water and the new table that arrived 30 minutes after us received water, so I went to the bar and picked it up myself. A couple minutes later our server arrives with water, a petite Manhattan (one gulp so maybe 5oz), Caesar salad and the calamari I asked to arrive first. I'm sure the kitchen is slammed, so totally understandable. It dawns on me that "oh yeah, today is Valentine's Day...", but I'm there for work so it wasn't on my radar. We hurry up with the food figuring that the fillet mignon wasn't far behind. The fillets arrive and were perfect. As I receive the tab the server apologizes for the short wait. We almost left because it took 45 minutes to get water before they were slammed, but I didn't feel it appropriate to hound servers who're already busy. When we walked out, the place only had about 20% occupancy. Wait...what? We looked around like it was the Twilight Zone and wondered if we fell into a vacuum of "not my table" syndrome. All understandable considering the day, and the food was outrageously delicious. Disappointed, needs another chance but won't since I'm flying out on Sunday.
My only complaint is this restaurant is not considered a five star restaurant. This place great as always the food and service is definitely one of best in alburquerque! And Gina was super great too.
Yanni's is hard to beat when you want upscale Mediterranean food and craft made cocktails. Great place to have a party like we did and Nicole is always the perfect host. Service is always professional and with a smile. If you have never been, or it has been awhile since you were at Yanni's, it is time to go back and see what is new!
Ordered the Lamb with chicken lentil soup. Very good and full of flavor. Ambience was nice and could be casual or suit and tie.
Lunch was great! I was undecided and at the suggestion of the waitress I tried the lamb shank with rice and veggies. The lamb was so moist that it just fell off the bone and was great with the sides. My friend had a salad and was able to add lamb medallions to it. She said it was fresh and flavorfu and that adding the lamb and watermelon made it.Hats off to the great service that we received.
