I just checked Guy Fieri's website on the Food Network to see if he's featured this place. Negative. Guy NEEDS to introduce this place on Triple D.
The Hollar is rather off the beaten path and it almost looks like a food truck or dive that built a dining room in the back of it. I'm so glad me and my husband got curious and checked Yelp to give us the green light. It was a gorgeous day so we sat outside (paper plates were the sacrifice of the experience).
I got the warm goat cheese salad, which blew me away. How does the chef make those dollops of goat cheese all crispy? The added grilled chicken, grapes and seasonings were sublime. I would drive miles to have that salad again. My husband loved his buffalo strips lunch special and also said it was uniquely fantastic. This dive is wonderfully dog friendly too, with its own "howler menu" to feed Fido or Spot.
Clearly, this is one very talented chef, and we can't wait to return for new surprises.
We dined outside, where you order and pay at the counter and your food is brought to the table. There is indoor dining, but I didn't go in there. The outdoor area is next to main street, but the day I visited was not busy, so it wasn't noisy. The food was good, with probably the best side order of fruit we received anywhere in the US at any price point. Red grapes, blueberries, strawberries and several slices of orange, all beautifully fresh. A good place for casual dining while watching the world go by.
a funky place with fun staff and delicious fare in this really unique little town.
looks a bit janky and was empty when we arrived but i just loved the vibe.
we started with fried okra and then i had fried green tomatoes with grits and chili sauce and my companion had green tomatoes caprese.
both dishes were amazing.
place is very dog friendly, even has a dog menu. the local dogs know it too, one came over and hung out (:
Delicious food and a great vibe. The live music on the patio was a nice touch. The service was great. We split the goat cheese salad and the house smoked pork quesadilla. Add a couple of mimosas and you’ve got a great lunch! I thought it was on the expensive side though. With tip we spent over $60 and that was sharing one salad and an entree. Would definitely go back next time we’re in Madrid.
The Hollar'll Git Yer Dollar! *6/10*
Great Atmosphere & Outdoor Pub Vibe
Great seating, service and location
Let's break it down...
💥Great atmosphere...especially in the summer.
There is live music across the way, bbq lingers in the air...good beer 🍺 and friendly service
💥 Food is average but I admire their flair. Burgers 🍔👍Fries battered and always great 👍
My burger had cream cheese in it which was a little strange but it held the green chili in the bun
If you're passing through..."Definitely Go" and support these guys 👍
