Visited The Hollow on our recent visit to Albany. We're big on local craft beers, and we loved the selection at the Hollow. We loved customizing our own flights so we could sample the beers we wanted. We were not disappointed in the selection, the quality or the service!
Food it's pretty to look at and sounds imaginative, but lacks flavor. My coconut curry chicken salad was dry. My friend's beet hummus was bland with little taste. Sweet potato fries and fingerling potatoes were good.
Hostess not very friendly or accommodating. Try reservation and was told no availability until 8. Decided to come and check bar. Mistaken sat at table that was reserved and kindly got up when hostess rudely told me it was reserved. We squeezed our party of three at bar. Several people who came in, sat at bar and did not have reservations, as I overheard. She offered them tables and never offer our party the opportunity to be seated at table. Food and bartender is always great. Disappointed with hostess. So sad.
Stopped by here for a late lunch and ordered The Standard burger. It was cooked perfectly and the fries were nice and crunchy. It was a good sized portion for lunch. I especially loved the picked onions! The service was quick and the staff was very nice!????
Went there for lunch. Had a classic burger with fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were tasty. The proposal was filling, but not oversized, something I appreciate.
The service was excellent. Wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. He was also polite.
Overall atmosphere was great for an informal lunch. If you are looking for quiet or romantic, maybe consider another place. But a business lunch or lunch with friends for the bill perfect.
