DOS. On The Lake

I made a reservation for 3 and asked to be seated on the patio. Upon arrival we were shown to a table inside and when I said I asked for the patio I was told they don't look at the notes on the site and it would be a wait. Um why use that site to make reservations then? While waiting at the bar, several other parties were seated on the patio. I'm not sure what strings they had to pull to get out there before us. We waited over 30 minutes for our reservation. Our waitress was friendly but it took quite some time to get our drinks and ultimately our meals. A couple seated behind us ended up getting up and leaving before they got their food because the wait was so long. I ordered the lobster mac and cheese and enjoyed it. The views and outdoor bar area are gorgeous but I would not recommend this restaurant if you are on any sort of schedule.

Great view. Great atmosphere. Couple things that didn’t make it great. You can’t order food at the bar area. That’s where all the outdoor seating and spectacular views are located. Another was four of the seven beers they had listed in their menu were not available. Lastly, when we were seated, the woman told us we had 50 minutes to eat because there was a reservation. Felt really rushed.

Just wanted to make a comment about the owner. I went to DOS on the Lake a couple of weeks ago and had a very large party attending for apps and drinks. When we arrived, we thought we would be able to get a few tables together. It was on a Wednesday and the host explained they were booked and wouldn't be able to accommodate us for about an hour and a half. To my surprise, the owner overheard our conversation and as I turned around trying to figure out where our party would go, he, without hesitation, took us to the outside area, waited on us and served us! This man is a class act!! I just went there again today with friends and saw him again on our way out. He was sitting near the door thanking customers as they left. The owner thanking customers! I reminded him and thanked him for his hospitality then and now. He walked us out thanking us. He is very professional and friendly!! I will always recommend going to DOS on the Lake!!

Well unfortunately today they do not get 5 stars. Our visit in the winter was amazing. The visit today not so much. Server was very nervous and never checked on us. Accidentally spilled drinks on a member of our dinner party. The menu for the summer is really not great compared to the winter. No specials No oysters really nothing great. It's a bar menu at a fabulous venue. It's an amazing space and patio but the food and menu is sub par. The menu needs more options. In the winter in had one of the best meals at ever had and today I was super disappointed. The view and Patio made up for it.
Also after spilling drinks and coming back with only 2 dessert options after not knowing the kitchen was out of the options she gave us. We didn't even get a apology or a complimentary drink for the party member that was spilled on. The server just seemed unseasoned. I know the owners and know that this is not there typical way of service. Please please improve the menu to match the great ambience.
