We decided on a unique venue for our wedding: a small, private island in upstate New York, and with just 6 months to plan the big day, I was very worried whether I'd be able to find a caterer on such short notice - not to mention one who could also tackle all of the logistical challenges of working somewhere only accessible by boat. Luckily, The Knot connected me with Bodette's BBQ, and I was pleasantly surprised to see all the positive reviews for Bodette's from his past clients online. I actually went so far as to message some of them on Facebook to verify they were "real" reviews (sorry, Joe!) and not long after, my inbox was flooded with replies from couples wanting to convince us that we MUST hire Bodette's for our big day. And now we are among them too. Joe had just 15 minutes to get his food, equipment, supplies, and four employees loaded and unloaded to the pontoon boat and set up before our ceremony began. They pulled it off quickly, quietly, and the food was amazing. We had about 62 people and chose to have the food served family style: BBQ chicken thighs, pulled pork, brisket, mac n cheese, broccoli bacon salad, roasted vegetables, and rosemary potatoes. Everything was outstanding. Our guests loved being able to try a little of everything, and Joe also provided a variety of seriously amazing BBQ sauces (Joe, please start bottling & selling these!). They took care of all the disposable dinnerware for our guests, brought lovely china serving dishes, cleaned up quickly, and left us mass amounts of neatly labeled leftovers that were gobbled up by guests at two family gatherings that weekend. We cannot recommend Bodette's BBQ highly enough. The experience was effortless with Joe, who was thorough, responsive, and answered all of my many questions. The peace of mind knowing that he was ready for whatever we threw at him was priceless. There are so many things we worry about the day of a wedding and so many things that can go wrong. But when you hire Bodette's, the food won't be one of them.

Delicious. Highly recommend. Working with owner, Joe, our family placed a large pick-up order (pulled pork, beef brisket, baby back & St. Louis style ribs, whole chicken and sides) during last week of July 2018. Bodette's professionalism and experience showed. Properly packaged, perfectly cooked barbecue. We'll be returning for sure! Also be sure to check out the old-time candy store inside.

Great setting on the corner near La Chute. Sat on the porch on a beautiful day Memorial Day Sunday. Couple of nearby/local brew options. Chicken wings are GIGANTIC and the sauce is a wonderful traditional Buffalo sauce. Service was very attentive. Can't wait to visit again and again. Check out the small candy shop in the back of the restaurant as well.
