Outstanding food, wonderful family service and atmosphere, a truly special Adirondack experience. Highly recommend!
We recently spent two nights at the Lake Clear Lodge with our young adult children. We had a wonderful experience. The room in the main lodge was very comfortable and clean. Our children stayed in one of the cabins and it was perfect for them. We enjoyed some great family time sitting by the fire playing games. The owners do a wonderful job giving the guests a fun and different experience with their ‘speak easy’ dinner. We would definitely return.
We went to Lake Clear Lodge tonight for a speak easy experience along with dinner and a sleigh ride. The entire night was such a treat. The drinks and appetizers were wonderful. Then we moved upstairs for a delicious home cooked meal. Once dinner was done our sleigh ride was waiting for us. The sleigh ride, Chris, our sleigh driver and his 2 horse companions were fabulous! Thank you for a special holiday experience.
This Lodge is a rare jewel, and we couldn't be happier we stumbled onto it while exploring the Adirondacks this fall. Ernest & Kathy are incredible hosts, fine cooks and darn good company to boot.
The horse drawn sleigh ride is magical & delightful. It's like being in a Charles Dickens Wonderland. Everyone that was on the ride with us were in awe of the silent beauty that surrounded us. It was our very first horse driven sleigh ride. The night air was crisp and it felt as if we were transported to another era in time to say the least.
Our dinner was superb. Pioneer type Adirondack cooking from scratch. Grass fed meats and free range chicken. The Schnitzel was out of this world and don't get me started on the potato pancakes! I know the work involved in making a dinner from scratch. We even got to speak briefly with Chef Cathy. She prepares every main meal fresh per order.
Ernest was delightful and so knowledgeable on the history of the Adirondacks and his wine & beer he carries from around the world.
We can't wait to return to this out of the way, charming place. Truly a delightful experience.
