Henry public is an awesome place close to the intersection of Henry St and Atlantic avenue. They have a great selection of vegetarian and non vegetarian food along with a good selection of cocktails. We had a seat by the bar and the bartenders are highly dexterous at making the drinks. The cocktails were well prepared and served with a smile. They also have seats to accommodate groups 2,4, and 6. A great place to try some food and alcohol with friends.
Came here for brunch, and ordered a couple of staples (steak and eggs, and a bacon-egg-cheese sandwich) and enjoyed the warmth and familiarity expected of those classics. This also invariably means far too many fries on the side - not always the worst thing. The velvet stout (oatmeal stout mixed with a sparkling wine) was surprisingly good.
Awesome beer choice, great cocktail knowledge, epic Mac & Cheese. Staff picked our accent and offered recommendations of other great old NYC pubs. Great vibe overall. From a visiting British couple.
A friend said they had a great turkey sandwich. I laughed. How good could a turkey sandwich be? The answer: phenomenal. The best turkey sandwich you've ever had. Right up there with that post Thanksgiving sandwich. Maybe better.
Food was good (had their version of Mac and cheese). Atmosphere at night lends to both romantic and social encounters (depends on where you sit yourself). Waitress was super practical but also super nice and knew the menu inside out. One last thing, kitchen is sometimes open 'till really late, good for late night snacking. I will be back there, for sure.
