Easy to forget there's usually one person running the entire place. Never been on an overwhelmed night but the service (including wine pairings and dietary adjustments) seems to be responsive and timely, if not downright exceptional.
Excellent service, excellent food.
Not 100% convinced with the wine selection as some are rather unusual. However, this could just be my taste/lack thereof. Decor is simple but refined and has a great low-lit moodiness about it.
Great for a date or to have a quiet, relaxed drink +/- delicious snack with some friends. It’s not a particularly rambunctious place so bear that in mind if you’re wanting a bar to drink in.
Oh and the food’s a kind of Spanish/French/Italian tapas. Enjoy.
Amazing. Sad we didn’t find this spot sooner. Ambiance is perfect, great wine selection and wonderful small plates with plenty of vegetarian options. We will be back soon.
Doing an adventurous and serious wine thing without being pretentious. Small plates are well-prepared and perfect accompaniments to the the booze. It's not so much a dinner place as a sit and drink wine and eat high-end snacks for a few hours kind of place. Really good stuff.
The owner of this spot is great. He used to manage Speedy Romeo's, one of the best pizza spots in NYC, and our go to spot. When he opened Glou, we had to try it even though it's a bit out of the way for us, and I'm really glad we did. He's clearly doing a great job with this spot, and really knows his wines. He gave some really interesting reds to try, and we ordered a few items from the menu, and they were all delicious. Really awesome vibe here, and I'm very glad to see it's doing well.
