One of my friends who is originally from Hong Kong told us Golden Imperial Palace is his favorite spot for dim sum in NYC. He could drive all the way from New Jersey just for having it.
The decor is brilliant like a palace and super huge with its own parking lot. During the pandemic, we heard most dim sum places weren't able to serve in carts, which was one of the interesting parts, but they already started using the cart currently.
The options weren't in a great variety in our opinion and the food wasn't really our types. However, they have great reputation among Cantonese group so it might be just our personal taste.
Real Chinese food and great taste. I strongly recommend it.
Had Dimsum breakfast. Dimsum menu with checkboxes to order. Seems the menu photocopied from old one with some boxes already checked. It makes confusing to get my order right. Other than that food is nice and delicious.
Dim sum is cheap here. There is also a lot of room so there are almost always seats available. There is also valet parking. The only issue I see with this place is that the food comes a bit slow. For dim sum it doesn't matter much since it's pre-made and pushed around in steamy hot carts. What is dim sum? It's a huge variety of foods including fancy looking shaomai, gyoza, steams rice noodle rolls, and many others. Look it up in Google images and you will see what I am talking about. Dim sum only happens in the morning before 1pm so don't expect dim sum to exist after that. After dim sum hours it becomes like every other regular Chinese restaurant .
