The Cub Room

The best part, the scallops. They where excellent. The bad part. The bar made our drinks wrong and they had to be sent back. The waiter ordered the wrong dinner for my husband but he kindly did not complain. Then we realized he forgot our vegetables that where ordered with dinner. When we finally got his attention to let him know, he left so quickly, we where going to just cancel them. They where good but not after our dinners where finished. We made the best of it. It wasn't worth ruining our evening by sending them back. I think the waiter was the down fall and the bar. But that could have been the waiter as well.

Yes it is a bit pricey, but it is definitely worth it. Thursday Spanish paella is the best I've ever tasted. The shrimp appetizer was so flavorful. We had a very friendly and knowledgeable waitress

This restaurant serves some tremendous food! Pricey, but fun for local fare with some wild foraged items. Other than my own foraging, I've never seen stinging nettle on a menu until I had it here. Of course, their morel mushrooms were great too. Great service as well.

Best chicken I've ever had. Alison took great care of my party. This place has a top notch atmosphere, full beverage list, and sure every item on the menu is as carefully prepared as the Amish Chicken that I enjoyed. If you are in Rochester... You should stop by

I had not had a plate in almost a year as the amount of food is certainly a challenge for the average person. I did some research and heard that The Cub Room had an amazing plate that was only served after 10pm at the bar. I waited and waited all night just thinking of what was to come. I wad not disappointed.

The combination of hearty base of baked beans, crunchy home fries, and creamy macaroni salad is what supports amazing meal. Topped with thick, juicy cheese burgers, a small amount of bacon bits, cheese curds, red onion, a spicy and earthy meat hot sauce this is already something amazing to taste. The fried duck egg on top just ties everything together into one of the better plates in recent memory.

Complimented with a few amazing cocktails this made my night complete. As I move forward out west to Denver it makes me excited to dive deeper into the heart and soul of the food culture there. I will always miss Rochester for things simple as this. A pile of food that creates a symphony of flavors into a perfect bite each time. If you get the chance check out The Cub Room after 10pm for an amazing late night dish. I would make sure to hold off on eating before hand because you will want to clean that plate with their fresh bread for sure.
