Mediterranean Diner

In spite of a rocky start with no server coming to the table for about 7 minutes, this diner turned out to have very good food. We had breakfast here, an Eggs Benedict Royal (with smoked salmon) and home fries. The Benedict was very good, with the smoked salmon being not too sharp or fishy but appropriately salty. The eggs were perfectly rendered. The Hollandaise was a bit cooler in temperature than I would have liked, but the flavor was good. The home fries were excellent, with a crunchy, crispy browned crust that was exactly as I like them. Service was good once we were addressed, and attentive.

While waiting for our orders to arrive, I noted someone beginning to clean the coffee machine. One of the two lids was taken off the top, and the person cleaning the machine grabbed a mop-like device off the back of the counter, sitting behind the machine, directly on the bare countertop. The mop was used to clean out the top of the machine, and when finished, was thrown back on the counter behind the coffee machine without rinsing and without being contained, just onto the bare counter. We had planned to order coffee, but wouldn't do so after seeing that.

Overall, the food and service were good. We just weren't that happy that we didn't get to have coffee with our breakfast.

Food was delicious. Arrived speedily and was properly cooked. Mid-range cost, and left me feeling satisfied with enough leftover to take home.

Calling this a diner is really an understatement. They have a great selection and very competitive offerings and prices with many standard restaurants in the area. Pleasant staff and some really good meals. Had a grilled salmon filet two weeks ago that was huge. It was perfectly done and priced similarly to others but was about twice the size of what others provide. It was so impressive that I ordered it again last week and I was not disappointed.

Have only been here for breakfast (with my mom, wife and sisters) and everything has always been perfect. Reasonable diner prices, but the food is always of the highest quality. I usually get eggs, omelets and have ventured out and tried the breakfast burrito. All good and a very good never ending cup of coffee. Staff is friendly and I have been voting daily for them to win the Best on Long Island (2019) Contest! Good Luck!
