Top Hat Oyster Bar & French Quarter Kitchen

Have been here a few times. Really great atmosphere and good food. The staff is always pleasant. Going again tonight with friends. It will be their first time here. They are fans of Anchor Down so we suggested Top Hat. (same owners) It is said the south shore restaurants take a back seat to north shore restaurant groups like The Polls who own some nice restaurants. This will change your mind.

This place is great! Shared the oyster sampler thing & it was excellent & really special. I had to try the etouffe which was also really awesome, & my friend's jambalaya was too! The atmosphere is lovely, & I will be back!

Update: Just as good the second time, & happy hour specials at the bar are awesome! I love their incredible whiskey selection, & po' boys!

Dined there this evening and it was great! The oyster appetizers were amazing as well as the drinks and main entrees! We will be back!

I ordered the lump cream cake. It read an amazing start to a great meal. That and the hurricane. My wife had the chicken creole and I ordered the jambalaya. It was so good we couldn't even share. A truly wonderful date night. Make reservations and get there early. It's not a secret.

We go to New Orleans every year on vacation and are so glad to finally have a place to go locally for the amazing food, drinks and lively atmosphere. Everything was really delicious. We had the oysters, crab cakes, gumbo, and poboys. We also had some delicious bread pudding and bananas foster. Try the tequila too! They make the tequila in house. Can’t wait to go back!
