Cafe Luxembourg

Very nice cozy place European style cafe. Food and service are excellent. Location very convenient.

Best restaurant in the neighborhood, by far. Immaculate service, excellent food, and choice wine all compensate for the one weakness: a lack of space. You will be sitting close to your neighbors and probably hear more of their conversation than you'd like. But if you can get over this, and the price tag, and just enjoy the food, wine, and service, you'll be a very happy camper. Two tips: 1) don't be put off by the snootier clientele, the service level is good enough that you will never be made to feel uncomfortable. 2) don't order the Croque Monsieur - it's just not their strongest offering.

My favorite local spot on the upper west side. Never a disappointment. Always consistent, long time favorite! Like your favorite pair of jeans.

Food:
- Cassoulet - a duck leg, a piece of sausage and the rest was a lot of pork and beans. Lightly baked bread crumb crust. Not too oily and very hearty.
- Burger was good, medium was done nicely, with a char on the outside and overall good flavor. Was able to sub salad instead of fries too.
- Brussels sprouts with almonds are done well, with a touch of sweetness but not too much from balsamic.

A wrapped square of nice semi-sweet chocolate was given with the bill.

Casual warm ambiance

This is a favorite spot of mine. I've been here numerous times for entirely different occasions: brunch, lunch, dinner, cocktails and small bites. I've never been less than satisfied.
