The place had cozy atmosphere, just don’t sit near the bathroom, it’s a little too close. Pad Se ew with tofu could have a better sauce and cooked tofu. Hope this helps!
I was there for a private event with a cash bar. The stupid person who was bartending made a huge deal that I was charging$9.80 and the minimum was $10.00. She didn't tell anyone else this and there were about 20 people ordering drinks over hours.
The is small but there is a outside. Nice hanging lights.
Food ok take out Thai. Not much flavor.
- Pad see ew - lighter in flavor and sauce which I prefer. Could have used a bit more pepper.
- Beef soup - very tender beef and good quantity. A bit too salty but was tasty overall
Service was very slow though. There were only a couple tables seated, but somehow they still seemed understaffed.
4.75. The food was great. Had the beef stew noodle soup, and the beef was so tender. My family had an array of other dishes, and I was able to sample some-- those were also delicious. My only complaint is that the food was luke- warm. On a cold day, it would have been nice to have the soup hot when coming out.
Very solid Thai food at this Very Thai restaurant! The inconspicuous location in East Village hides one of the better Thai restaurants in the city. Came here on a Saturday night with a few friends and were seated quickly. Service was very solid as our orders were taken in a fast manner, and the waitress (who I suspect is also the owner) was pleasant.
I had the Green Curry with veggie duck and coconut rice (~$15.50). While I feel like I kind of chose wrong with the veggie duck (I’m not even vegetarian!) sampling my friend’s dishes showed me that the food is solid. The coconut rice was a nice surprise, and the sweetness definitely added to the overall taste of the dish.
The portion size was also sizeable, so no complaints here.
Overall, 3.5 stars for the food, but 5 stars for the service. While there are better restaurants in East Village / Alphabet City, you can’t go wrong with Very Thai. The price of the check, and the size of the portions make this restaurant Very Value.
