Tried 2 of the apps and 6 of the veg. dishes tonight with my wife. The Sofir Wot and Yessir Wot were out favs although the others were excellent too. Simple and traditional taste, not trying to hard to be rich and flavorful beyond what the food calls for. I did not eat the meat dishes tonight although our neighbors food looked and smelled really nice. This place is small and you get a really nice appreciative vibe from the staff. I recommend trying it and I plan to go back sometime :)

A completely different(delicious) flavor and texture. The staff is very welcoming and takes the time to explain you the platters.

A taste of genuine and perfectly made Ethiopian food. If you are looking for a different taste and cuisine in east village, this is a great cozy nice family run restaurant to visit. Food is served surprisingly in the standard way of sharing a big plate of food with your hands (take that Oprah), the Injera bread is fluffy and sublime and served as you eat it off. Take the combo platter if you wanna taste a lot of things at the same time, its well worth it. The only nitpick I would do is the the Doro Wat is served in very tiny quantity in the combo platter, so I would suggest to increase the quantity of the gravy at least. The prices seems a tiny bit pricey for the quantity of food but this shoots for quality way over quantity and its great for that.

A really cute restaurant with nice staff and a really warm feel. The food just left a lot to be desired. I found the vegetarian sides to be bland and the beef dish wasn’t much better. The lamb was wonderful tho
