JG Melon

This is hands down the best burger in NYC! Catch the blue plate special during Happy Hour (Cheeseburger, fries and a beer for $18) There's something almost magical about the first bite in to a JG Melon burger, like you're tasting it for the very first time. I didn't know burgers could be this good until I had one from JG. Nowhere else in the city comes close to having this good of burger as fas as I'm concerned. The Cottage Fried Potatoes are also tasty! Decent beer selection on draft as well. The staff is always very friendly! In a city where you can easily pay $12-13 for a lousy or at best mediocre burger, do yourself a favor and come here instead!

I finally tried the famed JG Melon burger after years of avoiding it. Why? Because every other hyped burger in NYC has been a letdown compared to In-N-Out (in a class of its own) and even Shake Shack (my East Coast go-to). Although not amazing, the burger was solid and thankfully not overcooked (still prefer Shake Shack). Extra star for friendly staff and a great server.

Asked for medium got closer to well done. It's a good burger but probably not worth 15 bucks.

My burger was delicious and the hostess was wonderfully kind and accommodating. The decor cute and no frills. One star off because our particular server seemed to really want to be anywhere else. I’m sure this is a one off thing and the staff are great in general. Will definitely be back!
