Au Za'atar

Even after reservations you still have to wait and stand for at least thirty minutes. Because its crowded and people take too much time. If you are in a big group you will be seated fast. Otherwise it will take you time. Don’t forget it’s very hard to find a space where you can stand and wait. It’s very awkward and uncomfortable to stand in front of people when they are eating. They need to have someone maintaining the reservations so that they don’t let extra people come inside when there’s no space to be standing. Food was great. A little expensive if you get their special item which is on a electric grill. But overall it’s good.

By far, one of the best restaurants in NYC!! If you’re looking for a place with great ambiance, delicious food, and attentive service, Au Za’atar is the spot for you! My family and I come here every weekend and we always have a great time. The owners are very welcoming and generous. MUST TRY!!

The hostess was very polite and professional. I ordered the kebab platter with the French fries that I saw advertised on social media. The dish was as delicious as it looks! Also their Lebanese cocktail was heaven in a glass! The atmosphere was very relaxing with a nice crowd. I would gladly return to this place to eat and recommend it to other people!

It's my favorite place in New york to eat and hang out with friends!! The quality of food and service is amazing!! I'm gonna come back a lot of times more. Shawarma is the best option.. Beef, Lamb and chicken is awesome. ♥️♥️

Alphabet City has changed a lot over the years. When I attended college near there in the last 90’s, the area was “up and coming” but mostly sketchy. It had divine places to eat though. Au Za’atar brought back memories of those days. The food was fantastic. Delicious and hearty portions. The service was top-notch and attentive. Tables are close to one another, though, so keep that in mind. The bathroom was in good shape. All in all, my old friend and I enjoyed a lovely dinner here.
