Way too expensive. I ate here the first week they opened and have always thought the food was good and drinks top notch. I have moved away and have visited when I was in the neighborhood and have seen prices climb. The menu has not changed much, but the prices for some of the main dishes have more than doubled over these many years and on my last visit could not in the least justify the cost. had a drink and app and left disappointed.
The service wasn't great unfortunately. We waited so long for our food that our waitress asked us how our meal was and we had to remind her we hadn't gotten the food yet. She ran to get it but it was quite cold so I assume it had been out for a while
Good Mexican Restaurant. Neighborhood restaurant that has been around for years. This place has a great bar, good drinks and food. Very well known on the upper west side. We frequent Gabriel's for beers.
Cozy place!
The beans soup is great, and so is the fajitas: soft meat and a large amount of food.
The tres leches cake is moist and delicious.
We were very well treated.
Conveniently located to where I stay in the city, Gabriela's is consistently good, if not quite great, Mexican food. The Margarita's are good, but a bit pricey and small. The chips, salsa and guacamole fresco are excellent. Service is good, but again not quite great. Pricing is not overly high for NYC standards, but not inexpensive. Overall, you will enjoy your meal, but probably won't be telling all your friends about the great place you ate last night. Good option if you are in the neighborhood and feel like Mexican.
