I used come here years ago with my family but not sure when the new management started. I found the food to be average, clean and lacking of that HUNAN old school flavor. With so many choices nowadays there really is no reason for food to be average. There is severe competition and Chinese sit-IN places need to "come correct. This would be a 5 star place if it was a corner Chinese place but not for a sitdown on the upper west side. Spices and choice of chicken/pork were not at high standards. Fried rice, chicken and Vegggie are the staple of most Chinese bur this was not impressive. I'm hoping they actually read these and make changes on the menu and possible the decor. Its extremely dim(in cheap bulbs and not romantic way) walls need a high gloss paint job and possible some new frames and No no no menus taped to the walls in the dining area. Decor was not only dated but felt near depressive. I was originally looking to give 2 stars or 2 1/2 if allowed. But I want to root for the little guy and the mom and pop jobs. Please consider to Thrive and make changes. Please get out of the survive mode.

Best Chinese food on upper west side. No flashy decor but absolutely the best food you can find. Great joint! The chef here is a gem. Service is good too.

Really nice staff. Quaint little place for quick bite or take out. Recommend the lo mein.

Not a huge fan of the egg rolls or chicken wings.
