This place exceeded my expectations. I am a Harlem resident and I had passed this restaurant on a weekly basis for at least the last 10 years. I went on a date and he chose this place and I am so happy that he did. It's a nice intimate restaurant that seats maybe 30 people. The prices were amazing and the food was even better. I definitely suggest the beef samosas they were amazing. We did a two person meat combo so you get a little bit of everything this is a must try restaurant.
This was my first time eating Ethiopian food with my party of three, the sambusa appetizer was delicious along with the entrees we ordered which were the meat combo and the veggie combo.... restaurant’s atmosphere was chill. Only gripe would be friendlier service, felt like we were asked to leave by the end since they kept asking if we were done or not.
Excellent vegetarian fare. Specifically, the Abyssinian Vegetarian Special for two is a ton of food with a great variety of moist, savory foods. There is a wonderful beet and potato blend in an earthy/smoky sauce, string beans and carrots stewed, spicy lentils, chopped chick peas in a thick sauce, and the star of everything is the collard greens which are well cooked and an excellent blend of bitter and sweet. You'll inhale a plate of this is so good.
The service is really friendly too. I have taken my partner there on numerous dates and have never had anything but courteous, attentive service and excellently prepared food.
I wish I could give it 6 stars!
First time eating Ethiopian cuisine. Excellent chicken and rice, and the Sambuca was a perfect appetizer. Great service and amazing food!
When I came here, I ordered what I always do when I try Ethiopian: a meat platter and a vegetable platter. Taste was phenomenal, service was great. Every one of the thirteen different items on our platter was on point. I’ve eaten Ethiopian probably twenty times in many different cities and this was one of the best.
