Having lived in Japan for five years, its hard to replicate authentic and greasy Japanese even in NYC unless one is paying up for it at top restaurants. En gives you all that at modest price, and its all relative in NYC. I also live away so tend to go there for weekend brunch. It’s a must try great set menus
Food was AMAZING! The proportions were a little small, and service was really slow. I’d go back just for the food.
Their outdoor seating was really nicely lit and great ambiance.
These are some of the nicest people you will meet when it comes to food service and just in general. I was there for hours just talking to one of the bar tenders. If you know Raphael you are a lucky one. There was a great atmosphere with beautiful lighting. They treated me right and the food was amazing!
Great quality Japanese food! Also, servers are professional and very knowledgeable on what they serve. Lovely ambience with their beautiful high ceilings.
Highly recommend this restaurant for both lunch and dinner.
The only reason for 4/5 stars is because the online menu mentions 3 different Uni (sea urchin) dishes which I was on the hunt for while in NYC - they did not have any on their actual menu and when I asked, the server said they don't serve it (even though I can see in other reviews they have). Otherwise the overall experience was delightful: wonderful staff, great location, and food that makes you feel like you've left the country for a bit. The scooped tofu and black sesame seed doughnuts were my fave!
