Been a regular for almost 3 years. Services are awesome. They cook in front of you. Asked if you wanted to eat now or to go later. Better to eat while it’s hot since the crunchy part is the best with meaty fillings.
Their bing is huge and I only needed half to be full. They cook the crepe with an egg and then slather with sauces and stuff it with your topping of choice (read, super customizable)! I got Peking duck and beef. I loved the juicy duck and the beef-both very tender and juicy. Lots of flavors in the crepe, like Mala and sesame. Grab a soy milk and you have the perfect combo 😩.
First time trying this - A Jianbing is something between an omelette and a savoury crepe. Add your choice of filling - beef, duck, spam,... I love that Gem Bing Shop have so many different combos for flavors. Would recommend it.
I love discovering new food and my recent obsession is jian bing! They’re a very popular Chinese street food that’s generally eaten for breakfast. It’s similar to a crepe with an egg and flour batter. The best one I’ve found in NYC is this place, a whole in the wall located at Saint Marks. They’re about $9 and taste amazing!
Really really tasty. There need to be more places with small menus like this that focus on consistency of taste and quality.
