We enjoy hanging out. Yesterday we visited this excellent restaurant which friends recommended to us. We spent a delightful experience there with exceptional meal and an efficient team and a distinguished cook. We added this fine restaurant in our phone list and we shall certainly return very soon. Highly recommended.
The place is gorgeous. The cauliflower salad with the roll was scrumptious but the lentil salad was far from good. Slightly undercooked lentils are fine when they are hot or even room temperature but when they are practically frozen they aren't palatable and far less digestible. The chocolate cookie was the saving grace of my experience. I will return to try some more bread driven items and the pastries I know are good.
Good food. Friendly service. Limited menu. Convenient locations throughout NYC. Hudson Yards location is across from the 7 train, 30 Hudson Yards, and the Vessel. Close to Equinox & adjacent Hotel.
Update 11/21: tried it on a whim today, a Thursday. Croissant was much better. Changing my review to 4 stars for now. Either improvements have been made Or Sundays are bad. Investigation in order.
--- previous rev:
I've given this place a few weeks to get it right but alas the food here is indistinguishable from Starbucks or any other generic coffee &pastry place. When the first Maison kayser opened on the UES the croissants were legit, but as with all things the company has not been able to maintain that quality and it's explosive growth. The croissants here are not even above par, the almond croissants are an amorphous blob of sugar, the breads lack the crustiness of a French bakery. It all tastes like it is baked elsewhere and reheated or something. Very disappointed.
Sullivan St. Bakery, another 12 blocks north, has high quality baked goods made right there, that's the bar I'm using. MK should be as good or better, and is well below.
Great and friendly service. The food is a bit expensive, but better quality because of it when compared to the competition. Staff graciously filled my water bottled when I asked them to - a great place for travelers to stop at before heading over to the megabus departure point nearby!
