I have traveled and lived in many Arab countries, so I know the food pretty good and I can tell you that this restaurant is one of my favorites. Summarizing:
Staff: Natives. This is important to me because that means the food is original.
Food: Excellent, very original food presented in a very nice way. Enough quantities.
Atmosphere: Cozy. Not stuffy.
Service: very friendly, professional and accommodating people
Price-quality ratio: not bad, keeping in mind that this is not a fast food place.
Cons: Not recommended for babies/stroller.
All in all, recommended and we would go back soon.
I enjoyed this restaurant for a few specific reasons 1) we were interested in having a quiet earlier daughter with our newborn. Restaurant was good to accommodate for stroller and was half full, without a high noise level. 2) Menu was great; the variety of different options were great to choose from 3) Food was above average 4) service was very good 5) staff were extremely polite and not dressed in uniforms, so felt very family oriented. We would certainly come here again; great value and experience.
The best thing to happen to Manhattan since.... This is the best thing that ever happened to Manhattan. The entire experience was great. Very authentic, with a superb twist. You can tell this was all cohesively inspired by a passionate artist. The ambiance was captivating. The food, I could melt in the plates. We absolutely couldn't stop raving about the taste, the selection, and the classy subtle music. I could go on - was beyond impressed. The service was highly professional, friendly, and succinct. Get the Mjaddara Croquettes, totally worth it. Everything on the menu that we tried was above and beyond.
Such a warm and authentic experience. The dishes felt both familiar and creative, and everything was delicious. The service was absolutely charming. Would highly recommend this new neighborhood gem!
